TEL AVIV (Sputnik) — According Lieberman, the Russian side has high expectations to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis working together with Trump's administration.
"I think that we will try to explain to the both sides [Moscow and Washington] what our problems, what our interests in this solution, and I am sure that we are able to defend our interests and our security interests even if the achieve direct deal regarding Syria," the minister said at the Jerusalem Post Diplomatic Conference.
In April, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Tel Aviv would not obstruct the diplomatic settlement in Syria if it is not done at the expense of Israeli security. According to Netanyahu, Israel is interested in eliminating Daesh terrorist group and Iran-backed Hezbollah Shiite movement from Syria.
