MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Assad held a meeting with the Russian delegation that included Russian deputy prime, foreign, defense, economic development, energy and agriculture ministers.
"We agreed that the Syrian government would pay very close attention to each Russian company in Syria. The largest projects in energy and transport were presented to President Assad today. He personally guaranteed the most favorable conditions," Rogozin said on Russia's Channel One.
Assad's office said Moscow and Damascus agreed to intensify cooperation in trade, oil and gas spheres.
The Syrian president noted that Russian policy on the international arena and in fighting terrorism confirmed that Russia was a powerful state, respecting international law, sovereignty and the right to self-determination, according to Assad's office.
Rogozin stressed that Russia’s assistance for Syria primarily aimed at supporting the state in the fight against terrorists, committing violent crimes against Syrian people, the presidential office added.
