"Unlike some of those in the world who have either been mourning or celebrating the results of the US elections, we are neither mourning nor celebrating, and the results make no difference to us. We have no worries and by the grace of God, we are ready to face any possible eventuality," Khamenei said, as cited by Fars news agency.
The Iranian leader added that during the past 37 years Iran had never received anything good from the different US presidents, from both Democratic and Republican parties, and stressed that Iran should focus on handling present and future challenges by enhancing national and intrinsic power.
In July 2015, the P5+1 group of countries, comprising China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States plus Germany, reached an agreement with Iran to ensure the peaceful nature of Tehran’s nuclear program. In January, the sanctions on Tehran were removed after the International Atomic Energy Agency verified Iran’s compliance with the deal.
