BEIJING (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara.
"The parties agreed on the need to deepen cooperation in the fight against terrorism, to protect common security," the ministry's statement, issued after the meeting, read.
The ministry said that both China and Turkey were the victims of terrorism, therefore, both countries were interested in strengthening anti-terrorism cooperation, as well as partnership in the field of security.
The two countries also agreed on mutual support for the protection of the state sovereignty, security and stability, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
