MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Assertions that US law enforcement officials pressure Russian diplomats to curtail their access to polling stations in the United States are "unfounded," the spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Moscow said Tuesday.
"Russian assertions that… the US government is barring them from observing the elections are simply unfounded," Maria Olson told RIA Novosti.
She added that the embassy received Moscow's diplomatic note on October 26. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said earlier in the day the note contained a warning that Russia has drawn conclusions from the incidents, and that the US "should not count on the presence of US diplomats at elections that will be carried out in Russia."
