India Says Ceasefire With Pakistan Violated 500 Times This Year
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Delivering a speech at the UN General Assembly on Security Council Reforms session, Dr Maleeha Lodhi noted that such extension contradicted the principles outlined in the UN Charter, Radio Pakistan reported.

Meanwhile, Lodhi said that Pakistan supported the creation of non-permanent seats in the UNSC, since it would make the Council more transparent and democratic, according to the broadcaster.

Enlarging and diversifying the Security Council is a longstanding priority for the General Assembly. Currently the Council consists of five permanent, veto-wielding members — Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, China and France — and 10 nonpermanent, rotating members.
