Ukraine does not want Russia's presence if its proposed Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) armed mission is deployed in the eastern regions, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said Thursday.

KIEV (Sputnik) — Following marathon talks with Russian, German and French leaders in Berlin last week, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed that Moscow had agreed on the need to deploy an armed OSCE mission in Donbass. He said he expected Berlin to raise the issue at the pan-European security organization.

On October 20, Russia's permanent representative to the OSCE called it "Ukraine's invention" and said there were no prerequisites for the move.

"Today, I consistently advocate for Russian representatives not to participate in the police mission," Klimkin said in an interview with Ukraine's 24 Telekanal.

No Agreement on Armed East Ukraine OSCE Mission's Format Yet

There is no agreement yet on the format of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) possible mission in east Ukraine except that it will be armed, Ukraine's foreign minister added.

"Regarding that we will have an armed component, indeed there was agreement in Berlin [during October 19 Normandy format summit] and I can definitely confirm that," Pavlo Klimkin said in the interview.

"We are well aware that as of now we have no consensus on the format of the future mission. Regarding the mission's format, its modalities, we will be discussing all this in Vienna. Whether we reach an agreement on the modalities of that mission, I cannot say today."
