GENEVA (Sputnik) — On Friday, the draft resolution is expected to be proposed at the special session of the UNHRC in Geneva. The meeting was convened upon an initiative of the United Kingdom and supported by a number of countries, including Germany, Turkey, France and Saudi Arabia. The draft resolution was supported by 33 states.
"Russia is not satisfied with the project [of the resolution]," the source said.
On Tuesday, Russia's envoy to the UN office in Geneva (UNOG) Alexey Borodavkin told RIA Novosti that the special UNHRC session on Aleppo aimed at protecting terrorists and punishing those who are fighting against them, adding that the session was inappropriate after Russia introduced the so-called humanitarian pause to ensure the safe evacuation of unarmed militants, and civilians from eastern Aleppo.
Fighting in the city of Aleppo intensified after the Syrian army declared an end to the week-long ceasefire on September 23, blaming militants for numerous violations that made the cessation of hostilities unreasonable.
