Hardly will Moscow be invited for Mosul operation talks in Paris, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow is not expecting to be invited for ministerial-level consultations on Mosul offensive as differences in approaches make such talks very difficult, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said Wednesday.

"The ministry is not expecting such an invitation…And even if we received it, the difference in approaches would make such consultations extremely difficult," the source told RIA Novosti.

The ministerial meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday in Paris to discuss the progress in the operation to liberate Iraq's second largest city of Mosul.

The envoys of some two dozen of countries are expected to discuss the protection of Iraqis, delivery of humanitarian assistance, and work out a plan to normalize the situation in Mosul and its outskirts after the city has been cleared of Daesh terrorists.
