MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Europe has been forced to urgently and extensively boost its safety and security measures throughout 2016 amid a wave of deadly attacks that occurred in Europe, including a truck running over a crowd in France's Nice, a number of suicide bombings, shootings and stabbings. Some of the terrorists, who committed or prepared attacks, arrived as refugees from war-torn or poor countries.
“In April we proposed a European entry and departure system that implies storing data about all non-EU citizens arriving in the Schengen Zone. At the same time we are working on creation of an additional regulatory body for travelers from countries that has a visa free regime [with the bloc]. In November the EU Commission will make a proposition on the EU Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS)… So in future we will be able to reveal in advance whether there is a threat to security and to decide, who will be able to come to Europe and who will not. There must be no loophole for terrorists,” Juncker told the Bild am Sonntag newspaper in an interview published on Saturday.
