Probe Into Claims of Russia's Meddling in US Election 'Core' of FBI Activity
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United States is yet to prove that Russia is interfering in its presidential campaign, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.

"It's flattering, of course, to get this kind of attention — for a regional power, as President Obama called us some time ago… We have not seen a single fact, a single proof," Lavrov told CNN in an interview.

US officials alleged in a statement last week that Russia was behind intrusions into political party websites and state election systems, as well as the disclosure of information to entities like DCLeaks.com, WikiLeaks and Guccifer 2.0.

"If they decided to do something, let them do it. But to say that Russia is interfering in the United States' domestic matters, is ridiculous," Lavrov added, commenting on White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest's comments Tuesday stating that Obama would consider a "proportional" response to the breaches.
