Russia, Niger Senior Officials Discuss Economic, Humanitarian Cooperation

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov discussed on Tuesday economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation with Niger's President Mahamadou Issoufou and Foreign Minister Ibrahim Yacoubou, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — It was also noted in the statement that the sides had exchanged views on relevant international and African issues, including conditions in areas of tension on the African continent and counterterrorism in the Sahel-Saharan region.

"In the course of comprehensive discussions, the questions of further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Nigerien relations…mutually beneficial cooperation in trade-economic, investment and humanitarian areas, ensuring propitious environment for activities of Russian companies in Niger were considered," the ministry statement said.
