The World Energy Congress, bringing together energy ministers and leaders from business, finance and academia, is taking place in Istanbul on October 9-13.
Besides the issues relating to the progress of normalization of the Russian-Turkish relations in all relevant aspects, Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will also exchange views on important regional and world affairs, first of all, the situation in Syria, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier in the day.
The agenda of the meeting between Putin and Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro is likely to include oil market stabilization.
Earlier, media reports quoted the Venezuelan president as saying that the meeting would necessarily take place as both leaders were seeking oil market stabilization. Maduro said that he planned to meet Putin in the near future with the aim to reach a number of agreements, in particular, in military, financial, agricultural and commercial spheres as well as to make new announcements around recent OPEC decisions on oil market recovery and stabilization of oil prices.
On the sidelines of the congress, members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), as well as some oil producers, which are not members of the cartel will discuss a recent deal on limiting oil output on October 12, which is expected to become one of the most significant events held within the framework of the forum.
