Putin Restored Russia’s ‘Former Glory,' Role in Int'l Arena – Bahrain Ambassador

Ahmed Abdulrahman Saati, Bahrain's ambassador to Russia said that Russian President Vladimir Putin restored Russia’s former glory and its place among the world powers.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has reestablished Russia’s "former glory" and enhanced country’s international standing, earning trust and respect of the international community, Bahrain's ambassador to Russia told Sputnik Friday.

"Vladimir Putin has restored Russia’s former glory and its place among the world powers. As a result, he is respected by his friends and his opinion is taken into account by his opponents," Ahmed Abdulrahman Saati said.

The ambassador sent birthday wishes to Putin, who celebrates his 64th birthday on Friday, on behalf of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Bahraini government and the entire Kingdom of Bahrain, noting that Putin’s personality of unusually modest and wise man made a lasting impression on him.

"Putin is a man of peace, who is without hesitation ready to defend it. That is what he is doing now in Syria," Saati noted.

A large banner featuring Putin against the backdrop of Syria's national flag and carrying the words "Putin, thank you for peace," was seen hanging from Moscow's Krymsky Bridge earlier in the day. Another banner with Putin’s portrait was taken down on Thursday from the Manhattan Bridge in New York City less than an hour after the NYC Police Department received a 911 call.
