Syrian FM to Come to Russia ‘at Earliest Opportunity’ – Syrian Envoy

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem will come to Moscow as soon as possible, the Syrian ambassador to Russia told Sputnik on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said earlier today that the format of Lavrov and Muallem’s recent meeting did not allow for in-depth talks, but added that Moscow is always ready to welcome the Syrian top diplomat.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov last met with his Syrian counterpart on the margins of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23.

"We have agreed that Minister Muallem’s visit will take place at the earliest opportunity," Riyadh Haddad said. "We are now looking at the schedules of the Syrian and Russian foreign ministers."
