MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Sunday, the UN Security Council convened for an extraordinary meeting to discuss the situation in Aleppo, where the Syrian government forces are carrying out an offensive against Jabhat Fatah al Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra Front and the so-called armed opposition groups.

"I have received the following, that terrorists are plotting to use phosphoric dangerous material [seized at the chloride gas factory 25 miles away from Aleppo] against Syrian civilians but they will disguise as Syrian military personnel accusing the military personnel of committing those crimes," Jaafari said addressing the UN Security Council.

Fighting in Aleppo intensified after the Syrian army declared an end to the week-long ceasefire, blaming militants for numerous violations that made the cessation of hostilities unreasonable.
