Attempted Coup in Turkey Aimed Against Democracy in Whole World - Erdogan
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United Nations needs to reform the Security Council in order to make its work more just, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Tuesday at the UN General Assembly in New York City.

"The United National Security Council should be reformed in order to render peacekeeping and peacemaking activities more effective. And we fully appreciate the steps taken forward by Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in that direction… You cannot preserve the same structure [of the UNSC] under the circumstances of the modern times. You cannot condemn the fate of the rest of the world within the lips of these five countries represented within the Security Council… This is not a Security Council to have," Erdogan said.

"A Security Council that does not represent the entire world can never serve to reestablish peace and justice around the world. This is something that we need to revisit over and over again," the Turkish president added.
