WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The delegations of Russia and Saudi Arabia will discuss the situation in Syria on the sidelines of the 71th UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to the United States Abdullah bin Faisal Al Saud told Sputnik on Tuesday.

"There will be a meeting between the delegations of Russia and Saudi Arabia, but our foreign ministers are working as well so we are hopeful. We will discuss everything to do with Syria, it is the most important issue because of the killings of people and people’s suffering," the ambassador said on the sidelines of the UNGA in New York.
