MINSK (Sputnik) – Kent Harstedt noted at a press conference following the Sunday legislative vote that his office was observing “uneven” implementation of the promises made ahead of the legislative elections.

Harstedt called on Minsk to carry out comprehensive electoral reform.

Regional observers welcomed the vote in Belarus as generally free, fair and transparent.

A total of 101 lawmakers were elected to the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Sunday out of 484 candidates in a majority voting system.
