Kazakhstan Bashes North Korea for 'Irresponsible' Nuclear Test

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Ministry has accused North Korea of acting irresponsibly in its pursuit of nuclear weapons that endanger the regional and global security, in a statement published Saturday.

ALMATY (Sputnik) — North Korea came under barrage of criticism from world and local powers for testing a nuclear technology on Friday in violation of UN regulations.

"Kazakhstan decisively condemns North Korea’s actions and considers them absolutely inadmissible and contrary to UN Security Council resolutions," the statement read.

"The North’s irresponsible actions have negative impact on denuclearization and endanger both regional and global security as well as undermine efforts by the majority of nations to create a future free of nuclear weapons," it continued.

The Central Asian country has voluntarily opted for the status of a non-nuclear-weapon state and has been campaigning in support of a global ban on nuclear tests.
