G20 Community Needs to Scale Up Resettlement Efforts for Refugees

The G20 should "scale up" its responsibility in regard to refugees and to increase humanitarian aid and resettlement efforts as for them, European Council President Donald Tusk said Sunday.

HANGZHOU (China), (Sputnik) — The G20 summit takes place in the Chinese city of Hangzhou on September 4-5.

"Migration and refugee crisis is a global challenge that requires more responsibility and solidarity G20 community needs to scale up its share of responsibility," Tusk told reporters prior to the opening of G20 summit in Hangzhou.

"We want to encourage our partners to increase development and humanitarian aid and refugee resettlement… We urge g20 to use summit opportunity to increase aid," Tusk added.
