Ankara has appointed a new UN envoy and ambassadors to several countries, Turkish authorities said Tuesday.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — Undersecretary of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Feridun Sinirlioglu will be taking over as the country's permanent representative to the United Nations.

A number of diplomats were suspended following the recent coup attempts in Turkey over suspected ties with opposition cleric Fethullah Gulen.
