Russia's Foreign Ministry said that Sergei Lavrov will discuss the situation in Ukraine and Syria with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg on August 15.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will discuss with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier the situation in Ukraine and Syria in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg on August 15, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

Steinmeier is said to visit the opening of Russia-German summer school "Ways of Developing Energy Sector. Modern Challenges" in the Ural Federal University.

"After the event, the ministers of the two countries will hold talks discussing urgent aspects of bilateral cooperation in political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Lavrov and Steinmeier will continue exchange of views on key international issues including implementation of the Minsk agreements on settling the Ukrainian crisis and promoting the peace process in Syria, European security issues, fighting international terrorism," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
