MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Haqqani Network is a radical Islamist group active both in Pakistan and Afghanistan, which is believed to be related to the Taliban movement. The network is blamed for attacks on US and allied personnel in Afghanistan.
According to Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump, Pakistan will not get $300 million in military reimbursement funding as it is taking sufficient measures against Haqqani militants.
The United States reimburses Pakistan for its support of US operations in Afghanistan and helps it target militants on its soil.
According to The Washington Post, US reimbursements to Pakistan have amounted to $14 billion since 2002.
