The development of defense industry cooperation will remain a priority for the relations between Moscow and Lima, Russian Ambassador to Peru Andrei Guskov told Sputnik on Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He added that in 2016 the implementation of the largest-ever Russia-Peru military contract on the supply of 24 Mil Mi-171Sh helicopters to Peru was completed. The contract was agreed in late 2013, and included the delivery of maintenance equipment and training of personnel.

"Defense industry cooperation between Russia and Peru has a long history of mutually beneficial relations… I am convinced that the defense industry cooperation, especially involving the technology transfer to the partners, remains one of the most promising directions in the relations between our countries," Guskov said.
