Swedish Prime Minister Says Wants Hillary Clinton to Be Next US President

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Loefven said Monday he was closely following the US presidential race and would prefer US Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton to become the next US president.

STOCKHOLM (Sputnik) — He added that the US Republican Party candidate Donald Trump's victory will affect Sweden "not in the best way," explaining that the Republican National Convention was built on "fear and maybe even hatred while another [Democratic National Convention] was built on hope for the future."

"I want Hillary Clinton to become the president. There are no doubts here," Loefven told Aftonbladet newspaper in an interview.

The election, which will be contested between Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton will be held on November 8.
