The Kremlin is not aware of Turkey's inquiry regarding one of the Istanbul airport terrorist attack suspects claimed to be from the Chechen Republic, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Tuesday evening, three suicide blasts rocked the international terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk international airport, leaving at least 41 dead and 239 injured.

"I do not know whether any information, or whether this was a Russian citizen, has been requested. This will probably become known over time, because I do not have this information," Peskov told reporters.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that three suicide bombers participated in the attack. Initial indications suggest that Daesh is responsible for the terrorist attack, though the investigation is still underway.

Earlier, a source in the country's security services told Sputnik that two out of three suicide bombers, who had launched attack at the Istanbul airport, were foreigners, while the third was a Turkish national.
