    The National Coalition For Syrian Revolutionary And Opposition Forces, commonly known as Syrian National Coalition (SNC) welcomes improvement in Russia-Turkey relations as it could facilitate Syrian reconciliation, SNC Politburo member Abdul Ahad Stepho told Sputnik on Wednesday.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation earlier in the day. The leaders agreed to restore cooperattion, inluding in the spheres of trade, tourism and the fight against terrorism.

    "Of course it is a positive development," Stepho said.

    "We will see the results of this rapprochement facilitating the progress of [Syria reconciliation] negotiations…it may also impact work on civilian and humanitarian issues," he added.

    On Monday, the Kremlin announced that Erdogan had sent a letter regarding the incident with the Russian plane, saying "Excuse us" and pledging to take any steps to "relieve the pain and severity of damage" caused to the family of the pilot killed during the incident.
