MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow and London will need to assess their legal framework for cooperation and hold bilateral talks following the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union, Russia's envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov told Sputnik.
"I don't think there will be a need to review the legal framework with the EU, but most likely with the United Kingdom, because all the cooperation areas that were covered and continue to be covered by our 1994 partnership and cooperation agreement with the European Union will no longer be valid when it comes to the United Kingdom," Chizhov said.
Moscow and London will therefore need to hold "negotiations on a bilateral basis," he added.
