US Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland held detailed and constructive talks with Russian presidential aide Vladislav Surkov on the implementation of Minsk agreements on Ukrainian reconciliation, the US Embassy in Moscow said Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – On Thursday, Nuland arrived in Moscow to discuss the implementation of Minsk agreements on Ukrainian reconciliation.

"The discussions were very detailed, thorough and constructive. They focused heavily on the security aspects of Minsk, including how to accelerate a full ceasefire, heavy weapons withdrawal and full OSCE access to Eastern Ukraine," the embassy said.

Earlier, the US State Department said that Nuland will travel to Ukraine and Russia to discuss the crisis in Ukraine’s east with the two countries’ authorities.
