China and Russia are expected to sign a number of agreements on bilateral cooperation during the forthcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China, Li Huilai, China's Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, said on Wednesday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) — Putin is expected to visit China in late June.

"During the visit [of Putin to China] the parties will sign and publish an important political document, as well as sign a number of agreements on bilateral practical cooperation," the diplomat told a press briefing.

He also noted that the visit would further strengthen bilateral strategic cooperation.

Last month, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the current state of partnership between Russia and China was the best example of intergovernmental relations. He also noted that the official visit of Putin to China would give a powerful impulse to the strategic partnership between the two countries.
