BERLIN (Sputnik) — German Chancellor Angela Merkel will start the official visit to China on June 11 for participation in the Germany-China intergovernmental consultations, a source in the chancellor's office said Friday.
"This is the official visit, [the Chinese] prime minister will accept the delegation with military honors," the source told reporters, adding that it will be the ninth Merkel's visit to China.
The visit will last until June 14. The chancellor will be accompanied by six ministers, including the foreign minister and the finance and the justice ministers.
The intergovernmental consultations are expected to start on June 13.
