KIEV (Sputnik) — France's Senate will vote on the resolution on the easing of anti-Russia sanctions on June 8. According to French lawmakers, the bill was met with almost unanimous support in the Senate Committee for the European Affairs.

"[The Verkhovna Rada] urges French Senate to prevent the adoption of a resolution that can be seen by the Russian Federation as the weakening of the EU unified position regarding unacceptability and condemnation of Moscow unlawful actions on the international arena," the Ukrainian resolution said.

In April, the National Assembly, France's lower house of parliament, supported a resolution calling to lift the sanctions imposed on Russia.

The United States, the European Union and some of their allies have imposed several rounds of sanctions targeting key sectors of the Russian economy, as well as a number of individuals and entities, over Crimea’s reunification with Russia and accusations of Moscow's alleged interference in the Ukrainian conflict, which the Kremlin has repeatedly denied.
