Moving Forward: India, Iran Sign Strategic Chabahar Port Agreement
Furthermore, Modi and Rouhani agreed to enhance cooperation between their defense and security authorities.

Earlier in the day, a trilateral Iran-India-Afghanistan accord envisioning the development of the Chabahar port in Iran was signed. The development of the port would allow Afghanistan to gain direct access to India via the sea, while Indian goods would be able to reach Central Asia without having to pass through Pakistan.
