New Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman vowed in a conversation with US Vice President Joe Biden on Friday to focus on anti-corruption measures and on meeting the IMF reform obligations, the White House announced in a release.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States welcomes Ukraine’s legislative changes aimed at prosecuting officials who worked during the presidency of former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovich, the White House announced in a release on Friday after the phone conversation between US Vice President Joe Biden and Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko.

"The Vice President [Biden] commended Prime Minister Groysman on beginning his term by taking bold steps on reform, and the Prime Minister pledged to maintain reform momentum, with a focus on anti-corruption measures and fulfillment of Ukraine's reform commitments to the IMF," the release said.

US Welcomes Kiev's Legislative Changes to Prosecute Yanukovich-Era Officials – White House

“The Vice President also commended legislative changes that will set up an independent Office of the Inspector General in the Office of the Prosecutor General and allow prosecutions to begin against Yanukovych-era officials,” the release said.
