Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Friday that he would like to discuss the Russia-Japan peace treaty issue, as well as economic and international political matters during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

SOCHI (Sputnik) — Abe is currently in the Russian resort city of Sochi, where he is set to meet with the Russian leader.

"Today, I would like to hold a frank exchange of opinions with Vladimir [Putin], not just on bilateral issues, such as politics and the promotion of a peace treaty, diplomacy, economy, culture, but also on current international [issues] standing before us and the entire world," Abe said.
