GENEVA (Sputnik) – The results of the latest round of talks, which began on April 13, are expected to be announced on Friday.
"Discussions are going on as usual. UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura will come back to Geneva tonight, and we hope to meet with him tomorrow and hear a final decision from him," Jaafari said.
Jaafari added that Damascus delegation was going to stay in Geneva until April 27, as planned.
On Monday, the opposition High Negotiations Committee (HNC) asked de Mistura to suspend their participation in the ongoing round of talks, blaming Damascus for violating the cessation of hostilities on the ground in Syria.
