The International Syria Support Group (ISSG) will hold a meeting on Thursday, a Western diplomat told Sputnik.

GENEVA (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Riyadh-backed opposition urged the ISSG to reevaluate the cessation of hostilities in Syria, as well as the previously agreed humanitarian procedures.

"ISSG will hold a meeting on Thursday," the Western diplomat said.

The source did not specify the exact location of the upcoming meeting or the level of the delegations present.

On Monday, the opposition's High Negotiations Committee (HNC) asked UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to suspend their participation in the ongoing round of talks, blaming Damascus for violating the cessation of hostilities on the ground in Syria.
