Russia, US Close to Form 'Alliance Against Terrorism' in Syria
MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Both Russia and the United States are permanent members of the UN Security Council, therefore, in accordance with the UN Charter they bear special responsibility for international peace and security, Antonov outlined.

"I can say that we are capable of doing much more together. I would like to say that we are ready to cooperate with the United States in the fight against terrorism, as well as in combating other new challenges and threats. It is now upon Washington to decide how far it is ready to move on," Antonov told RT in an interview.

The Russian Defense Ministry has established good working relations with the United States, collaborating in Syria in the fight against terrorism, he noted.

"We have arrangements, specific agreements on cooperation in the air. We are in close contact with the US military. In principle, cooperation continues, the interaction is established," the deputy defense minister added.
