Poroshenko Bloc, People's Front Gain Votes to Form Coalition in Parliament
KIEV (Sputnik) — On Sunday, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk announced his resignation starting April 12 amid the ongoing parliamentary crisis in the country. Groysman, nominated by the Petro Poroshenko Bloc for the post of Prime Minister, is believed to have high chance to take office.

"Today I would like to share the decisions that have been achieved, we held multiple consultations with leaders of political forces, with the country's president on the issue of forming a new government of a new coalition. In fact, I think that today there is an agreed format that should receive support of the existing coalition and [political] factions," Groysman said in a video address.

He added that the new government, which is now being formed, will take over huge responsibility, and particularly, will face the need to stabilize the situation in Ukraine and continue with the reforms process.

The lawmaker stressed that the new Ukrainian government "absolutely will not accept corruption," and will rely on the support of both the Ukrainian parliament and the Ukrainian people.

The Ukraine political crisis escalated in February, after the parliamentary faction aligned to Ukraine's president – the Petro Poroshenko Bloc – described the cabinet’s work in 2015 as unsatisfactory. Shortly following, the Ukrainian parliament failed to pass a resolution of no-confidence to force the government of Yatsenyuk to resign. After that, various factions left the ruling parliamentary coalition.
