MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk's time in office has not been marked by any noteworthy contributions to Donbass peace settlement or the normalization of relations with Russia, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday.
"Indeed, Mr. Yatsenyuk will not be remembered for making any major contributions to normalize relations between our two countries, nor will he be remembered for any sort of contributions to settle the Ukrainian crisis — the situation in the country's southeast. But the most important thing for us is that the Minsk agreements were signed by the head of state and we remain hopeful that Kiev will fulfill the commitments it has undertaken," Peskov told reporters.
On February 15, the parliamentary faction aligned with President Petro Poroshenko described the cabinet’s work in 2015 as unsatisfactory. The following day, Yatsenyuk’s government survived a no-confidence vote, pushing various factions to leave the parliamentary coalition.
On April 10, Yatsenyuk announced his resignation.
