MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A Hamas delegation headed by the organization's leader Khaled Mashal could visit Moscow in late May or early June at Russia's invitation, senior Hamas member Mousa Abu Marzook told Sputnik on Monday.
"We held a discussion [with the Russian side] about the efforts our friends in Moscow are making for Palestinian reconciliation, as well as [Russian Deputy Foreign Minister] Miklhail Bogdanov's plans to arrange a visit of the Palestinian leadership. He has sent a preliminary invitation to visit Moscow to the movement's leaders," Abu Marzook said.
He added that Hamas had accepted the invitation and would soon decide on the date of the visit, likely to take place either in late May or early June.
