WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan are likely to have a discussion on the sidelines of a dinner scheduled at the White House on Thursday evening, Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes said during a press conference.
"We expect that president Obama will be able to have a discussion with president Erdogan tonight on the margins of the dinner that's taking place at the white house," Rhodes said on Thursday.
Rhodes noted that it would not be a full bilateral meeting, but given the "very many and complex issues" facing Washington and Ankara, the administration wanted to make sure "the two can find the time to have a discussion tonight."
