MOSCOW (Sputnik) – US Ambassador to Russia John Tefft said on Monday that there were no new developments in regard to anti-Russian sanctions.

“No, there is nothing new on that,” Tefft said after a meeting with Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev.

Tefft said he expected to discuss a number of business issues at Washington's request.

"I have a couple of issues that Washington asked me to raise, these are business issues," Tefft said at the meeting with Ulyukayev.

The meeting, underway at the Russian Economic Development Ministry, includes the participation of US economic and commercial counselors.

The talks come after US State Secretary John Kerry met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Thursday, during which the parties discussed the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine.
