MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Last week, UN Envoy for Syria Staffan De Mistura defined 12 points on which the parties to the Syrian peace talks in Geneva could agree and submitted the document to them for approval. De Mistura suggested that all parties to the intra-Syrian talks should agree that Syria will be a democratic, non-sectarian state.
"As for us, we are ready, but when it comes to the others, you should ask them. I don't think they are ready. We are prepared for direct negotiations and I believe they will have a positive outcome," Jamil told RIA Novosti.
The issue of forming a transitional period in Syria is fundamental in the agenda of the second round of the Syrian peace talks, Qadri Jamil said.

The next round of talks between government and several opposition delegations is expected in April.
