Russia hopes that after the visit of US State Secretary John Kerry to Moscow, the United States will engage in tighter work with Kiev on Minsk 2 deal implementation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said Sunday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this week, US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov and President Vladimir Putin.

The US top diplomat discussed the Syrian peace process, as well as the Ukrainian crisis with Russian authorities.

"I would like to believe that [Kerry's visit to Moscow] will yield a result, and the work of our US colleagues with Kiev will be more tight and persistent," Karasin told RIA Novosti.
