Moscow to 'Unfreeze' Ties if Ankara Accepts Responsibility in Su-24 Case
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow is not ready to resume any contacts with Turkey unless Ankara does what it is supposed to do after the downing of a Russian Su-24 warplane, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

"Ankara has initiated this trouble and it is the one that can minimize the consequences. Russia is currently not ready at all for any contacts with the Turkish side. It is out of the question unless Ankara does what it is supposed to do in this situation," Peskov said on the TV Tsentr television channel in a show which will air later Saturday.

Russian-Turkish relations deteriorated following the downing of the Russian Su-24 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter in Syria on November 24, 2015. In response to this "stab in the back," as it was described by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Moscow imposed a number of restrictive measures on Turkey.
