    Greece expects the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to take place in May, Culture and Sports Minister Aristides Baltas said Friday.

    ATHENS (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the two countries held an opening ceremony for Greece-Russia cross-cultural year in the Acropolis Museum in Athens, which resulted in the signing of the cross-year program.

    "We hope that the visit will be not only of cultural nature but also will relate to all issues and will let our countries to be brought even closer together," Baltas said at the ceremony.

    The minister added that the visit would be an important step for both countries.
