The Syrian opposition’s High Negotiations Committee (HNC), formed following negotiations in Riyadh, said Friday it believed that the chances of reaching a peaceful agreement with the country’s government at the reconciliation talks in Geneva were low.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The HNC announced in a statement that it had accepted the invitation to take part in the intra-Syria talks on March 14.

"[HNC coordinator] Riad Hijab lowered the chances of reaching an agreement with the regime, which makes it contribution to the Syrians’ suffering to avoid inevitable consequences of the policial process," the HNC’s press service’s statement read.
