Russian, Chinese FMs Discuss Preparations for Putin's Visit to China

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed preparations for President Vladimir Putin’s visit to China in September.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Lavrov also added that Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang will visit Russia at the end of this year.

"We discussed the schedules of political contacts, including preparations to this year’s upcoming to China by President Putin. The heads of state will also be able to discuss bilateral issues, as well as joint actions in international issues on the sidelines of the G20 summit, which will be held in September in Hangzhou," Lavrov said during a joint press conference with China’s Wang in Moscow.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and China’s top diplomat Wang Yi in the Kremlin, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday.

"In the Kremlin, he [Putin] will receive Foreign Ministers Lavrov and Wang Yi, who will inform the president about the results of their talks that have just concluded," Peskov told reporters.

"Besides, separately, of course, Wang Yi and Putin will discuss pressing issues on the bilateral agenda," he added.
